Tassie

During the mid-semester-break, we went down to Tassie

Our departure with the Spirit of Tasmania from Port Melbourne.

The journey to Tassie was during the day. Thus although it’s always five o’clock somewhere, our regular order was 2 long black, 2 flat white and one tea instead of five beers.

We arrived with a beautiful sunset

We thought a nice 4 WD would be acceptable for our trip around Tassie.

The first night we spent in a hostel which was at the same time an Irish Pub, god bless Lonley Planet!

The next day we got invited to a fabulous barbie at this place –
Tasmanian hospitality just wonderful

isn’t it a nice spot for a brekkie?

2 long black, 2 flat white and one tea later we were prepared to walk up the hill and have this beautiful view over wineglass bay

At the time we saw this sign,
I was pretty sure that we lost our way,

but there are lots of towns with great names. Wouldn’t it be great to live in Paradise?

view from Mt Wellington over Hobart

Instead of all the dead Kangaroos next to the road, this was the first Kangaroo I saw.

Ok it’s a pretty ugly one and it looks more like a big rat, but I prefer to see an ugly Kangaroo in the wild than a beautiful one in a zoo.

Ok, some more wildlife....

a Wombat

Possums

a Tasmanian devil

somewhere in the Lake St. Clair National Park

Cradle Mountain

at our departure from Tassie we had a beautiful sunset as well
